There is no law on Maui at all for camper camping at the beach and in the jungle.

You wonder about this because read a lot of false and incorrect information online. And unfortunately the information scares a few people from enjoying paradise this way. Don't be scared. It is awesome and legal. 😊

This is why the false information and confusion started:

Online you read peoples opinion and confusion. What I find funny is a lot of the people that put this online have never even been to Maui and are just repeating what they read somewhere else incorrect.

Best advice I can give to anyone... Always look at the source you are reading. Is a random person from anywhere, maybe even never been to Maui just read about it? Is it a webpage or business what do they want you to click on or rent or buy from them? Maybe saying you must reserve and pay for campsites to rent from them?

The best way to know yourself if worried... look anywhere online for anyone that ever has said they got a ticket camper camping. You will not find a single post anyone saying they have because there is nothing to ticket. A camper camping ticket on Maui is like a unicorn, people talk about both neither is real. 😉

Here's some reasons this incorrect info is out there...

Someone did some half baked research found the rule that says you can’t put a permanent tent on the beach sand. This is so people that live here don’t take a big tent rope off a section of beach and call it home. It has absolutely nothing do to at all with camper camping.

Further Maui and the Big Island have zero camper camping laws. Oahu and Kauai islands have various laws that in part restrict camping. So people read about Oahu or Kauai and then tell someone else it's all of hawaii. Just not true. Maui and Big Island perfectly a normal thing.

So now someone that read that incorrect info posts “No camping allowed on Maui” and there starts the wrong info. Someone else reads that then sees someone ask can you rent a camper on Maui and a bunch of people likely never been here reply no camping when it’s actually no tents on the sand.

Think about it you're coming here because its paradise, perfect weather all the time, be really easy to live on a beach. But that wouldn't be good for anyone else. So no permanent tents on the sand. If you want to do that cant help ya LOL.

Then all the search engines, A.I. things like ChatGPT, the bots that search the internet and copy info eventually gets to the guys that post no camping on Maui incorrectly and it goes all over the internet. Classic case of wrong information online. Fact!

There’s some other smaller reasons like people that rent campers that also make you pay for campsites get kickbacks from some of the campgrounds that’s extra $ in pocket on top of what you already gave. I never have done that I don’t need someone putting money in my hand for getting you to spend money with them. Especially when there's amazing open free camper camping all over way better then any campground. Things like that and a couple others.

And now you know all the correct info.

I don't rent you a camper... I give you an Easy Camper Vacation. Once reserved I’m here for you anytime until the day you are checking out looking at pictures of the lifetime memories you just experienced. I totally am into that's part of my job... but I love to share the island with you how I see it that’s my fun providing campers. There is no reason to stay at a campground unless you decide that’s what you want. Come on over enjoy! :)
